Small businesses are pretty risky here in the United States. Financial disaster seems to lurk at every corner and managing a budget and watching finances can be a tricky matter. Even the larger corporations in the US and the United Kingdom have the chance of at least losing great sums of money — if not going bankrupt.
While running and owning a small business can be difficult there is a way to protect your assets and manage your money better. This tool is convenient, easy to use and it actually brings in revenue for you. What is this amazing tool? It is the business credit card! Business credit card deals are among the most sought out things by businesses everywhere.
Of course, business owners have a wealth of options. They could go out and get a small business loan but these are often much more rigid and harder to get. Plus, you would have to wait an eternity to hear whether you had been accepted or not! The best option still remains the small business credit card.
What features do the best business credit cards give business owners? Well, the best credit card deals manage your expenses; get you discounts on needed equipment and materials and also, in many cases, give you a low interest rate! It doesn’t matter whether you pick up a VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Discover Card, it is sure to give you and your business benefits by the multitudes!
Filling out a business credit card application is much like filling out any other credit card application. The process is quick and often you will hear back through instant approval! Here are some of the major benefits you can expect to see once you get your card:
- Making large purchases on your credit card will free up your cash — which means you will be able to better manage the money coming in and out of your business.
- If you have employees under you, it will be easier to track their spending. You can even request additional business credit cards that you can give to the employees who do a lot of office spending. You never have to worry about employees using business funds for personal usage because you can check all of the accounts activity through the internet!
- Your business can go global as a business credit card deal gives you the ability to buy anything from any part of the world, plus the internet!
- Many cards now come with money management software that you can use to better set up an efficient budget and get your money to work wonders for you.
- Nearly all the best business credit cards have a rewards or discount program worked in with it.
- These programs can give you anything from cash back rebates and frequent flier miles to gasoline discounts and restaurant gift certificates. Some cards even specialize in hotel discounts! The more you spend the more you will receive back in rewards!
- Zero percent interest rates are common for an introductory period on a lot of the best business credit cards! With a low interest rate you won’t have to worry about paying finance charges for 6 to 15 months; so if you are a brand new business this boost will help you out during your first year in business- where most people fail!
- You can build a good business credit history which will in turn help you get loans if you need them in the future.
While the benefits of these cards are great, you should still look into a few little ‘side hints’ to make sure a card is right for your needs.
- If you expect to get a new business credit card then you will have to have excellent personal credit. Those who have a poor credit history in their personal lives will not be trusted by creditors who would be taking a huge risk on them! If your business is tied to your personal life you could be in even more danger if your business goes bankrupt- you could lose all of your personal assets!
- Big business debt could turn over into big personal debt! What you do with your business (unless it is an LLC, Limited Liability Company) will be reflected in your personal credit. To keep your personal credit score in good standing make sure you have a good business credit score as well. This means making all of your payments on time!
- Stay away from cash advance offers! Cash advances can cost you a lot of money in the long run and since they are not strongly recommended in your personal life you will certainly have to stay away from them in your business life as well! The fees from these offers can add up very quickly and this stress is the last thing that you need!
If a business credit card is right for you, start with your local bank. Check out their rates and their special offers. This may be the option you choose to go with but it is advised to compare credit cards to get the right one. The internet is a great place to start and you can often come up with the best credit cards online pretty quickly.
Many websites even allow for online comparisons. You can view the top credit card offers side by side! Don’t just pick any random credit card offer; you need one that fits your personal needs!
Look at the rewards programs on all of the cards as well. Some business credit cards have amazing discounts and rewards. If you have excellent credit you shouldn’t settle for anything less then you deserve! Look for 1% to 5% cash back on all of your purchases!
If you want to do whatever possible to enhance the look of your business and make it grow in large demand then you will definitely look into getting one of the credit card deals on the market that are designed with business owners in mind. Manage your money better and make for better benefits today!

When choosing the card, you choose the issuer. However, most people do not care much about this point, especially when the card screams about zero interest rates and exclusive rewards. Now that every cardholder can submit credit card applications right from home, people may know little about the issuer of the card they have chosen. By all means, most card companies provide credit customer service for their clients, but there are few card companies that really value their customers and keep on launching new programs and services that enable customers to manage their financial issues and life.
