Can Catalog Credit Card Deals Help to Establish Credit History?

It's no secret that your good credit rating requires a heap of work to be done. As a rule, it's a time-consuming procedure. Step by step you will prove your lender that you are a reliable client and someday, you will be rewarded for your efforts. Still, it's not so easy to make first credit card deals with no credit history. Credit card companies prefer to make deals with those customers whose credit rating is good or excellent. However, there are some alternative ways to build your credit history. And one of them is catalog credit cards.

Catalog credit cards have the same principle as traditional credit cards, i.e. you make purchases now and pay for them later. So, what is the difference between regular and catalog plastics? The point is that you can use your catalog credit card for purchases at merchants within your catalog. Sometimes, these cards are also called merchandise credit cards.

As a rule, it's pretty tough to build a strong credit card history. By all means, it would be fabulous to start your credit history with the best credit deals like no annual fee and low interest rates credit deals. Unfortunately, it's next to impossible with bad or no credit history.

So, what are the advantages of catalog credit cards? First and foremost, it's an efficient tool for building your credit. It's a sure method, as your lender will send monthly reports to one of the major credit bureaus. Meantime, making credit card deals for no credit history, your results will be reported to 4 major bureaus.

If you make purchases at specific stores, merchandise credit cards are the most acceptable option for you. It's not news that rewards credit cards are extremely attractive for cardholders. Still, to be qualified for these deals you need to have good or excellent credit rating.

Catalog credit cards give you an opportunity to save on purchases at some specific stores within your catalog. In other words, using this card, you may get discounts, special services, and reward points. Moreover, some department stores offer special sales for cardholders only.

It must be said that requirements for making catalog credit deals are not so strict. There are no employment verifications, and most catalog plastics offer guaranteed approval. It's a good chance for those people whose credit rating leaves much to be desired.

Generally, catalog credit cards imply no annual fee. Anyway, it would be better to play it safe and check terms and conditions. It must be mentioned that merchandise credit deals have higher interest rates in comparison with regular credit card deals. So, one should do some math to figure out whether this card is worthy or not.

Bear in mind, catalog plastics have low credit limits. On the one hand, you simply cannot fall into heavy debts. On the other, it's not so convenient to stint yourself in spendings. However, credit limit increases are also available. Make it a rule to pay off your balance every month. This way, you will avoid various difficulties that may arise.

All in all, catalog credit cards are a good option for those who start their credit. And like the proverb goes, a good beginning is half the battle. So, try to be vigilant while making these deals and someday, you are sure to make the best credit card deals.

Like any other businesses, credit card companies have their sources of revenues, i.e. interests, and fees. According to Wall Street Journal, credit companies' revenues from fees increased by 41% over the last four years. Now, it is $18.1 billion compared with $17.2 billion last year. Since 2003, there's a 41% increase in fee revenues. Meaning, for banks and companies, credit card fees provide a steady growth of income. Today, fees account for approximately 40% of the total revenue for card issuers. Now, customers notice not only increases in credit fees but also the appearance of some new fees for things that never had them before.

Oddly enough, the majority of those people with good and excellent credit score are not so much interested in these credit offers, as they can easily make great credit card deals online rather than responding to these mailings. If you are sick and tired of a thick bunch of pre-approved credit card offers, you have all the chances to stop these mailings. Read on and you will learn how you can stop receiving annoying mailings from credit card companies and banks.

In general, most US cardholders are aware of identity theft dangers. The peculiarity of this crime is that you can hardly notice that you've become a victim. But still there are some safety measures that can be used, like fraud alerts for instance. Sometimes, people can meet face to face with something they cannot explain. If your credit cards are in your wallet, and your personal information is not stolen, but there are some credit transactions you didn't make, the evidence is great that you have become a victim of credit card shaving. When choosing the card, you choose the issuer. However, most people do not care much about this point, especially when the card screams about zero interest rates and exclusive rewards. Now that every cardholder can submit credit card applications right from home, people may know little about the issuer of the card they have chosen. By all means, most card companies provide credit customer service for their clients, but there are few card companies that really value their customers and keep on launching new programs and services that enable customers to manage their financial issues and life.
