Credit Card Deals Help to Protect Your Purchase

Good shopping has a healing power to cheer up and even cure a headache. Sometimes, this principle doesn't work. Just imagine the following scene! When you come home and discover that the product you have bought is broken or damaged. Your burning indignation will be of no use in this situation. Most likely, the merchant will refuse to change this product or return you money. Don't give way to despair! Credit card companies can give a helping hand to their clients. It means that credit card deals can protect you in such awkward situations.

In fact, protection of consumers is not the main aim of credit card companies. But they are ready to do anything in order to support their customers, especially prosperous ones. If you are unhappy or have some doubts about your purchase, credit card issuers may defend your rights. In what way?

Capital One customers can use a temporary credit to their accounts. How does it work? If your purchase is in dispute, you send a letter to your credit company and they will issue a temporary credit. So, you won't pay for the item until the dispute is resolved.

And here everything depends on the company. After receiving your dispute letter, they will contact the merchant. If they take your side, you will get a refund. And if they agree with the merchant, you must pay for the item and all the charges. Anyway, you should try to resolve this problem with the merchant. And if you don't manage to do this, you may ask your credit issuer to stop the payment.

Bear in mind, it is possible in certain cases. The problems with items purchased by mail or phone order, or over the Internet cannot be solved with the help of your credit card. Your sale must be no less than $50 and the place where you have bought must be within 100 miles of your home.

Most credit card companies allow you to dispute a credit card purchase. But they don't have to do it. By all means, it is to their interest if you are a valuable client.

Still, everything is not as easy as it may seem. Asserting your rights is a tough job. First of all, you are supposed to settle this dispute with the merchant. Control yourself and be courteous. Put your complaints in writing. Don't forget to send one copy to your credit card company. It will serve a proof of your efforts to resolve the problem.

If it doesn't help, contact your credit company and alert them of the disputed purchase. Again, do it in writing and make sure your letter include your account number, the closing date of the bill and a clear description of the damaged item. It would be better to enclose any other supportive documents.

Another point to remember is time. Don't beat around the bush, act without delay. Mind, a dispute letter to the credit company should be sent within 60 days after the bill with this item appeared on your credit card statement. Once this bill is paid, nothing can be done about it. So, don't delay if you feel doubts about the quality of your credit card purchases. Making credit card deals you have all the chances to be a winner in this dispute.

Temporary credit seems me to be a reasonable service, as banks must support their clients in any situation and especially when it conserns purchases.

I would like to ask a quick question in regards to credit card charging! Would\'nt it be feisable for everyone to use a Password when using their credit cards? Might that be away to stop the problem with stolen credit cards and or numbers? You would\'nt be able to charge without using that number.I know that might be a problem with over the phone charging, etc but the phone dialing pad could be used to enter a number, right?

Stolen Credit Cards

One of the things most people would hate to lose is a credit card or a wallet full of plastics. The point is, a lost or stolen credit card may become the reason for serious financial problems.

Much to cardholders' delight, credit cards come with a thick bunch of various credit benefits. One of them is zero liability coverage. It means that when your card is lost or stolen, you are liable only for $50. It's all well and good but it's still really crucial to know what to do when your credit card is lost or stolen.
