Recently there have appeared quite a number of smart tricks to get out of credit card debt and one of the most frequently used is making a balance transfer onto another, lower interest credit card. A personal loan to pay off debt, home equity, credit card debt counseling or debt consolidation loan are obviously a greater risk for a cardholder seeking relief.
A card with a lower interest rate, especially if you qualify for it, is enticing and seems to be a much better way out at first sight. But if you know all the pitfalls of making a balance transfer credit card deal, if you think of those rates hikes leading to a new debt, you will probably change your mind out of this venture.

While the Federal Reserve is gratifying American credit consumers by lowering the prime rate, which by December, 2007 amounted to 7.50%, British credit card market will perhaps try quite the opposite policy. Millions of British households may experience an unpleasant hike in interest rates on mortgages and credit cards as soon as this Christmas.
They say it is going to be the biggest credit hangover in the last few years due to the disturbance on the British credit card market. Financial experts predict that because of the banks' refusal to lend each other money, customers will suffer from increased rates and hefty fees on credit cards.

Christmas is coming and it's high time to think about Christmas tree, decorations, gifts, and entertainment. Let us be honest, it's so tough to resist the temptation of buying some fancy house ornaments or a nice holly berry decorative wreath. Year-end holidays give a chance to pamper our dear ones with the best wished-for gifts. The question is, how will this influence our family budget?
It's not news that most U.S. customers prefer using plastic while making purchases. That's quite easy to charge on credit cards, and equally hard to pay off the balance. In credit spending, planning is the name of the game. That's why Chase has created a new Holiday Spending Planner, an outstanding credit service that will be so helpful for customers this Christmas.
