Credit card redesigns may lead to variety of options for customersSunday, December 18, 2011 Chase Bank recently announced the redesign of its Visa credit cards - allowing more space on the front for the Chase logo. This new design is in trial mode currently but Visa has pans to roll out its new design to other financial institutions in order to increase the branding and logo visibility of the individual issuing banks. All important information, including the credit card number, customer name and expiration dates are on the back of the card in the new Visa design. Some analysts say that this new design may dissuade some types of credit card fraud by making it more difficult to see the number when it is being swiped. How much does the design of your credit card matter? Most credit card companies offer a wide range of customization for the look and feel of a credit card. Many of these allow customers to express their interests through a card. Perhaps the most well-known tactic is a platinum or gold colored card that American Express, MasterCard and Visa give as a sign of a high spending limit to long-term, high income card holders. Another credit card design option is the photo security credit card. Some institutions have begun offering customers the option to include color photos of themselves on the face of a card. This can deter credit card thieves from using your credit card in person. Non-profit organizations have also used the opportunity to give customers a chance to show devotion to a cause.
