Gas Credit Card Deals - Do Not Burn Your Fingers

In the life of each car owner there comes a day when they come to think that gas prices are too high to manage with your pocket's resources. It is natural at this point to start looking for loopholes to save on gas more effectively.

I won't tell you anything new but generally you can avail yourself of gas rebate credit cards to obtain considerable reduction on gas prices. Thus, gas credit card offers are becoming more demanded and frequently searched for cards as compared to other rewards credit cards.

Once you have determined for yourself that it's time to stop wasting high-sky sums to feed your "four-wheeled friend", you need to choose the right gas-rebate credit card, the one that you will win with - not lose.

Remember, however, that with the big credit card companies' practices to send you countless unsolicited credit card offers in the mail, you may find yourself lost in the wide choice of rewards and attractive fees and terms. No wonder you may be tempted to make a credit card deal that isn't quite yours or even bad for your spending and credit management habits.

Now, let's make it clear what you should watch out for, making a gas credit card deal. The most important thing is to realize the difference between what they advertise and what is stated in the fine print.

You know that in order to enlarge their customers market, creditors will promise you lowest APRs, no annual and fees and lots of other benefits alongside with rewards just to make you sign up. But you have got to know that you are not protected from a sudden change of the initial terms and the change is most often not to the better.

Gas-rebate credit card deals are not an exception and the feature most subject to change is precisely the gas rebates which were the main reason for you to apply. Well, credit companies have found the most beneficial way to earn revenues. They fill up one of the most wanting spheres in the credit card market, make earnings and then scale back.

A few examples will help you understand. Let's take Chase credit cards. One of the Chase Bank credit cards offered its customers as much as 10% rebate on certain gas company's purchases and it did not give you the same large rebate with another company. If the customer was inattentive and did not read the fine print closely, he lost the rebate privilege.

What's not all about the Chase bank credit card with gas rebates. Making a credit card deal with Chase, you should also remember that you are eligible for the gas rebate during the first 60 days from the date of the application. After that the rebate drops to 5% on all your gas purchases.

Want a better deal for gas rebates? Then you can opt to apply for Citibank credit card giving you 5% cash back on every gas purchase no matter what company you buy at.

A part from rebates on gas products, Citibank card adds 5% cash back on supermarket and drugstore products and 1% cash back on any other purchases.

Even though this credit card offer looks perfect and irresistible, it may change its terms and condition any time and you may be the last to know about it. While interest rates and fees may remain untouched, you may face a considerable reduction of the gas rebates part.

If you do not want to be disappointed about your gas credit card which you applied for to cope with extremely high gas expenditure, then the fine print is your guide.

Sometimes it is really hard to understand all the details there and if you do not get anything, you should contact your creditor for explanation.

Credit card are supposed to bring benefits not loss irregardless what you buy with it.
