How do I know what kind of credit card to apply for that will not hurt my credit. I am looking for a credit card with low to 0 interest. I need one for emercency use only. I need one for low income. |
|
Answer:
Well, the type of a credit card you will qualify for is determined by not only the level of your income but also your credit rating. Yes, it is very important that the issuer gets proof of your ability to pay but the first thing they will want to look at is your credit score, your current and past debts and the status of your payments. So, in order to know what credit card you can apply for and get approved, it makes sense to examine your credit report and learn your credit score number. Remember, if you request for a card you do not qualify for and get denied, it will pull your scores down. On our part, we can offer several credit cards with low interest rates that differ from each other by their credit rating requirements. If you have a good or excellent credit score, you can apply for Citi® Platinum Select® Card® which interest may vary depending on your creditworthiness and income but which is still low enough to save you money on every day purchases. Now, if you're an average credit customer who is building credit history and has no late or missed payments with a previous issuer, your variant may be Capital One Classic Platinum credit card which is also a low rate deal. Also, your income will count for the bank but if the bank accepts it, you'll be approved. In case your credit is bad, a lowest rate variant for you would be Centennial MasterCard®/Visa from First PREMIER Bank, a credit card for people improving their credit damaged by late payments or defaults. So, choose the right credit card based on your credit rating and apply online to have some of the lowest APRs on the market. |

What kind of credit card balances can be transferred? I have a Sears master card and a Sears department Store card and want to transfer both to a new low apr or my current Amex card. |
|
Answer:
In fact, you are allowed to transfer balances from both, your credit card and department store card and their providers will not prohibit you from doing that. The question is which card you will be able to transfer balances onto and how much you will pay for that. As a rule, you are able to transfer balances from one or two cards onto a single credit card if the credit limit of the latter allows you to. The interest you will pay on the balance transferred will depend on the status of your credit rating. The better your credit history is, the lower APR you'll be charged. Are you an excellent credit customer? Then, you may transfer balances onto More Card-Clear from Discover Company, which is not only a low rate but also a good rewards credit card. Or you may consider applying for Platinum Visa® from Chase Bank, also a low APR balance transfer card for good credit. In case your credit rating is good, you may choose to apply for Capital One Platinum Prestige which balance transfer APR is also low enough to save on repaying your debts. Compare all the features and requirements on these balance transfer credit cards and apply for the card most suitable for your credit and paying capacities. |

I am currently a college student and I was considering getting a credit card to help me build credit. This will be my first card. My only debts are my student loans, but I don't have to repay those yet because I dont graduate until 2011. I received two offers in the mail. One offered a 16.99% APR after the introductory period ended the other card offered a 9.6% APR. What is APR? What is a good APR rate? |
|
Answer:
APR, or Annual Percentage Rate, is the total cost of the credit granted. It means once you borrow money, you will have to return it with the interest assigned. So, if say, you are given a credit line of $10 000, you are to pay the $10 000 back plus the interest charges. It is easy to guess, that the lower APR you are charged, the less money you will pay back to your creditor. In fact, low APR credit cards are considered to be cheaper and so more profitable lines of credit on the market. Today, a great many of student credit cards provide beneficial APRs, so that young adults could build their credit history at a lowest cost possible. However, APRs differ from issuer to issuer and sometimes you need to do a great job to find the best interest rate available. It is very convenient that you received student credit card offers in the mail but how do you know that they are something you really need? On our part, we guess that you should have more freedom to choose and offer some more student credit cards with low APRs. Consider getting No Hassle CashSM Rewards for Young Adults from Capital One Bank which will not only build your credit but will also give you rewards for using it. Or look at the features of Citi® Platinum Select® Card for College Students or Citi® mtvUTM Platinum Select® Visa® Card for College Students. Both these cards offer a low APR card and help you build a really good credit history. Take your time and compare these low APR student credit cards to choose a most optimal variant in terms of credit costs. |

Answer:
There are different credit cards that might work for your purpose depending on your credit history. So before applying for a card you need to check your credit score. Apply only for the offer you qualify for. If you have good credit history we recommend you to apply for Blue from American Express®. This card offers you up to 15 months of 0% APR on purchases. It has no annual fee and has a great rewards program. If your credit score is average your best choice would be Standard Platinum issued by Capital One. This card is great for those with limited credit because it offers 0% APR on purchases and no annual fee. If your credit history is seriously damaged your only option is to apply for a card issued by First PREMIER for consumers with bad credit. The deal that comes with lowest APR is Gold MasterCard®/Visa. This card has instant decision so you will know immediately whether you are approved or not. |

Answer:
Building a strong credit history is not a quick process. Since you have no credit you cannot count on being approved for cards with low APR and great rewards. A credit card for no credit is an important stepping stone you need to build credit. We recommend the following cards issued by Capital One: Standard Platinum. This card has reasonable APR, no annual fee and 0% APR on purchases till December, 2008. It also gives you Platinum Benefits such as travel accident insurance, 24 hour roadside assistance, etc. No Hassle PointsSM Rewards. This card also has an intro period with 0% APR on purchases till December, 2008. Its best feature is that it has a great rewards program, with promotional offers on gas stations, grocery and drug stores. Platinum MaxSM. This card has fixed low APR on purchases for three years. Capital One guarantees that it will not change for three years, no matter what. You have good chances of being approved for these cards, if you have never declared bankruptcy, have no criminal record and have a steady income. Before you apply, we recommend you to check your credit report to make sure all your personal and financial information is correct. |

What is the credit limit on cards issued under the bad credit applications |
|
Answer:
There are two types of credit cards for bad credit - secured and unsecured ones. As for secured cards, the credit limit they provide wholly depends on the security deposit you make. Unsecured credit cards have a credit limit that the bank considers to be suitable for your credit history. usually you can start with the limit of $300 - 500. As you pay off your balance accurately, without late payments and exceeding the limit, the bank can increase your spending limit, month after months, up to a thousand or two. Of course, the amount and terms for credit limit increase depends on the bank. Compare the following credit cards for bad credit which have quite competitive terms. First PREMIER Centennial Gold MasterCard/Visa provides $50 credit limit increase after you make your first 2 Minimum Payments. the original spending limit will be not high, it is based on your credit history. This card has low APR on purchases and convenient account management services. Capital One Platinum Visa gives a low APR of 8,65%, 40% savings and 0% intro APR. KNown for being focused on consumers with limited credit, Capital One bank also gives all opportunities for credit limit increases. Orchard bank Classic MasterCard is also a popular palstic for bad credit. this bank is famous for its cards for bad credit, so they provide optimal credit limit (also depending on your credit score review, after which increased according to your way to pay off the balances). the card has 0% intro APR for 6 months, the low ongoing APR of 7,9% and account management tool and assistance 24/7. |

Ill like to transfer a balances for a few credit cards I have,, what I need to do? I never been late in my cards just i need to have a one headche, besides i can lower my rate |
|
Answer:
All you need to do is to choose the right balance transfer card with which you can solve your credit problems. Actually, you've got two options - a plastic with a 0% APR for a long period of time, like 12 or 15 months, or a card with a low fixed rate on balance transfers. If your balance is not that big, the first variant will be more acceptable. But if the balance you're going to transfer is pretty heavy and you're not sure whether you can pay it off within the introductory period, you'd better choose the card with a fixed low rate.More Card by Discover is an excellent example of a good balance transfer card. It comes with 0% interest rates for 12 months on balance transfers, so you've got enough time to pay off your balance. Plus, it has no annual fee. No need to pay extra for the maintenance of the card. In addition to that, this plastic offers a great rewards scheme. After you've paid off the balance, you've got all the chances to benefit from this card.Another card offering a 0% APR on balance transfers is Chase Platinum Visa. It also offers 0% promotional rates on both purchases and balance transfers for 12 billing cycles, it comes with no annual fee, plus it offers low ongoing interest rates. In case you want to apply for the card with a low fixed interest rate on balance transfers, Clear from American Express will be the best choice. The great thing about this plastic is that it has no fees at all, and a one-time balance transfer fee is no exception. It comes with a low fixed APR on balance transfers, plus there's no need to pay a balance transfer fee. If the balance you're going to transfer is rather heavy, this card comes as the best solution. |
