The new quarterly spending categories that offer bonus rewards for Chase Freedom cardholders are wholesale department stores such as Costco and Sam’s Club, department stores, and any purchase made through Chase Pay. They will get five percent back on up to $1,500 in combined purchases from October first through the end of December.
BJ Mahoney, General Manager of Chase Freedom, said customer feedback showed that cash back on mobile wallet purchases was a popular reward. “We’re bringing Chase Pay back this quarter, along with two other favorites—wholesale clubs and department stores. It’s the perfect trifecta to make holiday shopping more convenient and rewards for our cardmembers,” said Mahoney.
The benefits go beyond cash back
Downloading Chase Pay is free and easy, and the mobile payments option is accepted at places including Starbucks, Cinemark theatres, Shell gas stations, Walmart.com, and many more. Cardholders with eligible Samsung devices can link their Chase Pay accounts to their Samsung Pay accounts, allowing them to earn more rewards at even more places, simply through tapping to pay for purchases.
Department stores that will participate in the five percent cash back offer include Macy’s, Nordstrom’s, and Kohl’s. After reaching the $1,500 limit on the bonus cash back in these categories, cardholders will still earn one percent cash back on all other purchases, with no limit on cash back rewards at that level.
Chase Freedom offers many other benefits, including no annual fee. There’s no minimum value required to redeem cash back, and rewards never expire. If you’re in the market for a cash back credit card, one like Chase Freedom, with no annual fee and rotating rewards categories, and a low annual percentage rate, is a great option.
