Credit Cards for Shopping at VerveVerve MasterCard is an unsecured credit account for people with poor credit. The issuer promises credit limit of $500, which is rather high for a credit card for people with bad credit. However, this credit limit will be reduced as the fist-year annual fee, which is $125, will be deducted from your initial credit limit leaving you only $375.
If you think that APR will smooth over the annual fee, then you are wrong. The interest rate will only make things worse as it is 29.9%. Though it is not that high as First Premier's rate (now at 36%!). And you still can avoid interest fees if you pay off the card balance before the due date. Another feature of the Verve card is that you can be approved for a secured credit account. All applicants a reviewed for an unsecured credit account but if you do not qualify for it, the issuer will offer you to open a secured one.
Opt for Verve Credit Card AlternativesVerve credit card is not the only credit card you can apply for when your credit is bad. In fact, there are many credit card issuers who offer credit cards to people with poor credit. Most of such cards are secured credit cards. The banks do not want to risk offering a credit card without collateral to someone who damaged his credit in the past. However, a security deposit is usually the only severe requirement a secured credit card can have. All other conditions, as annual fee and interest rate, are rather bearable.
Unsecured Credit Card for Limited CreditMany people who think their credit is bad, in fact have limited credit. Your credit is limited when you have had your credit card for less than three years and haven't declared bankruptcy or defaulted on a loan. You may have a couple of late payments but your overall payment history is not bad. This all is true for limited credit and you can easily get an unsecured credit card on good terms and even with rewards program. Moreover, it can be offered a free access to your FICO credit score. The last feature is the most important one because you still need to build your credit history, if you want to get access to credit cards with greater perks.
